Donald Clapper is pleased to announce that he will be a major participant in this three year traveling museum tour organized by Smith Kramer Fine Art Services of Kansas City. The tour will be held within up to 12 different museums across the nation. Clapper will be contributing 8 paintings to this prestigious event. This exhibition brings together some of the leading contemporary Trompe l'Oeil artists in America today, such as Donald Clapper, Larry Charles, Eric Conklin, Ken Davies, Gary Erbe, Michael Gallarda, Gerold Hodge, Michael Molnar, Gale Tate, Debra Teare and Gregory West.

Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum Exhibition

A Trompe l'Oeil Society Museum Exhibition held in conjuction with the Exhibition "Feast the Eye, Fool the Eye: Still Life and Trompe l'Oeil Paintings From the Oscar and Maria Salzer Collection" in Wausau, Wisconsin, from April 5th, 2003 through June 1st, 2003. This is the first Trompe l'Oeil Museum Exhibition that has combined Historic Trompe l'Oeil paintings with Contemporary works. The Director of the Museum, Kathy Foley, wrote a scholarly six page article published in the April issue of American Art Review magazine.

This was the largest comprehensive Trompe l'Oeil Gallery Show ever in New York City and was held from March 6th, 2003 through March 30th, 2003. The Society members all attended this prestigious event and also had its Annual Members Meeting at the Historic National Arts Club in Gramercy Park. The Show was well received by art collectors and art enthusiasts alike, and also garnered a favorable critical review by the largest art magazine in the country, Art News, in their June, 2003 issue.

A Museum Exhibition held in central Phoenix from March 8th, 2003 through June 15th, 2003. This was a very creative and unique Museum Exhibition because it combined Trompe l'Oeil in Fashion Design with Fine Art Trompe l'Oeil. A special thanks to Dennita Sewell, Curator of Fashion Design of the Phoenix Art Museum, for her innovative and creative ideas resulting in this one-of-a-kind Exhibition.
